Hello, I'm Major General Ted Wong, Commanding General of the Northern Regional Medical Command.
January is National Blood Donor Month.
A single donation of one pint of blood can save the lives of three people. Five million people need blood every year. Those people could be your neighbors, your battle buddies, or even your family members.
The Armed Services Blood Program plays a key role in providing quality blood products for Service members and their families.
As a joint operation among the military services, the ASBP has many components working together to collect, process, store, distribute, and transfuse blood worldwide. There are more than twenty ASBP blood donor centers in the United States and around the world.
Contact your local military medical treatment facility to find out where you can donate or visit ASBP's website: www (dot) militaryblood (dot) dod (dot) mil.
Thirty-eight percent of Americans are eligible to give blood, but only ten percent do. Make a positive difference. Give the gift that really counts -- the gift of life.
The Northern Regional Medical Command is Serving to Heal, and Honored to Serve.
