Five 413th Contracting Support Brigade civilians recently graduated from the Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board's Pacific Leadership Academy.

Tae Kim, Mark Dahilig and Carolynn Schneck graduated from the Emerging Leader Program while Melanie Phaniphon and Irvin Bonus, all from the Regional Contracting Office-Hawaii, graduated from the Senior Leader Program.

"The leadership class helped me understand and appreciate an organization's most reliable resource for generating excellent results year after year -- people," Bonus said. "Their judgment, capabilities and experiences make the difference between success and failure. As a result of my studies, I am now in a much better position to mentor and develop the next generation of military and civilian acquisition professionals."

According to its website, the mission of the Pacific Leadership Academy is to develop strong and inspirational leaders and to provide professional leadership training for Pacific-based federal agencies. Professional facilitators deliver results-oriented training to its participants. The Pacific Leadership Academy's Senior and Emerging Leaders programs are designed to prepare mid-to-senior-level leaders to meet and embrace leadership challenges facing federal agencies.

The programs are sponsored through a partnership between the Honolulu Pacific Federal Executive Board and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Western Management Development Center.
