Exercise is one of the best ways for veterans to improve both mental and physical health, as this type of activity can provide a boost for the body's overall state of being. Participating in group exercises, such as marathons, is a great way for veterans to both work on their bodies while contributing to a greater cause.
A number of veterans organizations have run in a number of marathons to raise awareness for different causes this spring, from the lesser-known community runs to the highly publicized Boston Marathon.
