KILLEEN, Texas - Fort Hood Family Housing will host their annual Golf Fore Education golf tournament with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sept. 13. More than 100 golfers are expected to attend.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Sept. 13 for a cost of $60 per player of a four person scramble at the Courses of Clear Creek, Fort Hood, Texas.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Killeen Independent School District Education Foundation as well as The Military Child Education Coalition, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit focused on ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation and transition.
Last year, FHFH set a goal to raise $25,000 for the two organizations, which it exceeded thanks in large to the support and generosity of many local businesses and community partners. This year, FHFH expects to raise another $25,000 for the two deserving organizations.
Golf Fore Education is sponsored by Lend Lease (US) Community Fund (LLCF), a nonprofit organization that focuses its efforts on supporting the Military men and women who live in Lend Lease homes and the communities where Lend Lease employees work and live.
“The Lend Lease Community Fund is a grassroots organization that really focuses on supporting efforts that directly impact military members and their families,” said Mack Quinney, project director for Fort Hood Family Housing. “This golf tournament is a perfect way for the LLCF and FHFH to join together to accomplish just that. We’re happy to help such a great cause that has such a large impact on so many children living in the Fort Hood area.”
