Women's Equality Day - August 26

August 26 is designated as Women's Equality Day. The United States President declares this day each year to commemorate giving women full voting rights equal to men. The 19th Amendment was introduced in 1878 and was certified on August 26, 1920 to the United States Constitution. Legislation was established in Congress by Bella Abzug. Since 1971 every president has published a proclamation for Women's Equality Day.
