Welcome to Western Washington Community Support

I'm Alunya, the Army OneSource Community Support Coordinator for Western Washington. I recently transferred from beautiful sunny Hawaii where I was the Joint Service Family Support Network Community Support Coordinator.

I am originally from Washington state and grew up in Spanaway where my father retired from the Air Force. I have been married to my wonderful husband who is in the Army for 13 years and together we have a12-year-old son. I enjoy being an Army spouse and all the challenges that come with it.

Being an Army spouse has given me an opportunity to travel to different places and learn new things. The challenges and life experiences I have faced has allowed me to help serve our Soldiers and Family Members as a Community Support Coordinator.

Free Handbook for Family and Friends of Service Members

A new, complimentary handbook offers support resources for families and friends of Service Members before, during and after a deployment.

Sponsored by the Department of Defense - Defense Centers of Excellence and the US Department of Health and Human Services - SAMHSA, the handbook offers ways to cope with the stressors and emotions of dealing with the deployment experience, or smoothing the transition to civilian life.

It's also valuable for your own personal support network: family, friends and co-workers.

Order the free handbook here.
