Youth Services (YS)

U.S. Army Youth Services(Ages 11 - 18 years) Army Middle School and Teen Programs are designed specifically for middle school youth and teens to ensure that the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of youth are addressed, and predictable services provided. Youth Services offers programs in the following areas: sports, fitness & health options; life skills, citizenship & leadership opportunities; arts, recreation and leisure activities; academic support, mentoring, and intervention services.



Programs include:
  • Middle School Programs (11-12 years): Includes before and after school care, youth technology labs, school transition services, summer programs, part-time and hourly care, Operation: Military Kids, SKIESUnlimited, CHARACTER COUNTS!, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Sports & Fitness, Kid's World, and 4-H.
  • Teen Programs (13-18 years): Includes youth technology labs, school transition services, summer programs, Operation: Military Kids, SKIES, CHARACTER COUNTS!, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Sports & Fitness, Kid's World, and 4-H.
  • Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood (AYPN) (11-18 years): Programs for youth between 11-18 years old residing in off-post communities with limited or no access to Garrison based programs.

Youth Services includes multiple programs, which include:

  • Facility-based programming in the Youth Center
  • Outreach programming, to include Neighborhood Activity Homes
  • Community-based programming and partnerships with other MWR partners and local schools
  • Partnerships with 4-H Clubs
  • Partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs of America
