With thousands still stationed overseas many military families face hardships everyday. That's especially true for military children who may deal with challenges of separation and loss of a parent currently deployed. But, there is a program that is helping to ease the strain for children.

As Memorial Day approaches, Golden Corral is focusing attention on its special effort to build on its long-term commitment to honoring disabled American veterans.

The Army's Golden Knights and the Navy's Blue Angels headlined at the 2012 Joint Service Open House here, which ran May 18-20.

One reason so many veterans struggle in school is that they are not given adequate tools and support to prepare them for the rigors of college level studies.
