FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — "The sky was dark and rain was pounding so hard on my windshield that we had to pull off the road for a bit and wait for the rain to let up. As soon as we got onto post, the sirens went off, so we sought shelter at Clothing and Sales. They had us wait inside the alterations shop because that was the only part of the building that didn't have any windows. The whole post lost power, but everyone remained calm. We must have waited for 30 or 40 minutes."
Christina Cliburn, a contractor who works at the Counter Explosive Hazards Center on Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., recalled the EF3 tornado that occurred on the morning of Dec. 31.
