Couples in Marriage Enrichment.

The Army Family Advocacy Program installation manager and the Chaplain have information and support available for married couples who are experiencing difficulty. The aim is marital enrichment and connection to a support network.

Time Frame

Tailored to the need of the group. The skill training support groups generally meet for 3-4 weeks over an extended period. Retreats focus on communication and marriage growth for 12-15 hours.

Couple Communication Skills

The goal of this program is to teach couples to communicate better about day to day issues and to resolve day to day conflicts, it focuses on the following:


  • Self awareness and disclosure.
  • Effective listening.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Communication styles.
Audience

Couples in small groups or individual couples or self-guided for informational purposes; primary focus is communication.

Note

The frameworks and skills build upon each other, providing an integrated approach for improving communication between partners. However, the general principles are useful for any audience wanting accurate information on constructive communication.
