National Guardsmen generally live off base unless called to active duty. When a National Guardsman is called to active duty, it can mean significant changes for his or her family. The National Guard has services established to help families in times of need. The National Guard has a Family Program established to facilitate ongoing communication, involvement, support, and recognition between National Guard families and the National Guard in a partnership that promotes the best in both.
