Question:
What medical fees am I required to pay while serving overseas?

Answer:
Only active duty service members and their families are eligible for the TRICARE Overseas Prime program. Under this program there are no "allowable charge" fee schedules overseas-TRICARE pays billed charges (in almost all cases); while co-pays are required in CONUS, they may not be required overseas; pre-authorization is not necessary when overseas enrollees who are traveling in the US require health care; and when overseas enrollees receive care in the U.S., they will have to pay Prime co-payments.

Question:
What should I do if I need medical attention while traveling in a country where there is no US Medical facility?

Answer:
If you need medical care while traveling in a country where there is no US military medical facility, you can contact the nearest US consular office for their recommendations on nearby providers of care.

Question:
Where can I find out what services are covered under the military dental care coverage CONUS and OCONUS?

Answer:
The TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) is a voluntary dental plan available to family members of all Active Duty Uniformed Service personnel and to Selected Reserve and Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) members and/or their families. To understand what services are covered CONUS and OCONUS visit your local Uniformed Service personnel office, dental treatment facility, or health advisor/installation point of contact for more information - or visit the United Concordia Companies, Inc. website (who administers the program) at http://www.ucci.com. TRICARE's webpage also offers fact sheets on their dental program.

Question:
Where do I submit claims for overseas care?

Answer:
The TRICARE Overseas Prime Remote Program is available for active duty service members and their family members who are on accompanied tours. To assist these beneficiaries, a point-of-contact program was established to aid beneficiaries and host nation providers in filing TRICARE claims. The TRICARE Overseas Program consists of three regions: TRICARE Europe, TRICARE Pacific, and TRICARE Latin America and Canada.
