What programs and benefits are provided by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES)?

Answer:
The purpose of the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES) is to support the off-duty, voluntary education programs of the Department of Defense and to conduct special projects and development activities in support of education-related functions of the Department. This includes distance learning programs, certification programs, counselor support programs, tuition assistance, the Troops to Teacher program, etc. For more information about DANTES, visit their website at http://www.dantes.doded.mil.

What services do the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) provide?

Answer:
The Army Continuing Education System (ACES) provides services, programs, and resources to aid service members in their pursuit for higher education such as distance learning programs, college courses (through satellite programs with partnering colleges and universities), testing, tuition assistance and counseling, etc. They also offer information, assistance, and some services to family members. Contact your military community's Army Education Center or visit the ACES website at https://www.armyeducation.army.mil for more information.

Where can I find out about continuing education courses?

Answer:
The Army Community Education Center can assist you in enrolling in continuing education courses. You can also check with local community colleges and universities as well as local Adult Education Programs that are often offered through the public school system.

Answer:
The Army Family Team Building Program offers a number of free classes on Army Life, many of which are available online via their website at http://www.aftb.org. Classes are often available in Spanish, Korean, and German.
