What is the Blue Star Service Banner?
Blue Star Service Banners are typically displayed in windows of a home to let others know that someone in that home is proudly serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The banner is typically red with a 8.5" x 14" white filed one or more blue stars representing a service member in active duty. A gold star is displayed if a service member is killed in action or dies in service. These banners are displayed during times of war and originated during World War I.
