What are the different types of Army uniforms worn by Soldiers and when are they worn?
There are a number of different types of Army uniforms worn by Soldiers. The most common one is the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). BDUs are issued as utility, field, training, or combat uniforms. The Desert Battle Dress (or Camouflage) Uniform, referred to as DCUs are typically worn in areas where desert terrain is prevalent. Other uniform styles for the Army include Class As, Class Bs, Dress Blues, Dress Mess, etc. Specific rules apply as to what type of medals, ribbons, rank, patches, etc. can be worn.
