What are some methods and/or techniques to resolve conflict in an organization?  
Successful conflict resolution depends largely on the willingness of the individuals involved to negotiate their differences until they agree on a solution. If conflicting parties cannot resolve their differences themselves, they may need the assistance of a third party to facilitate a compromise. Sometimes the leader of the organization or group will step in and force a decision on the conflicting parties who may be at an impasse. Other times, an objective third party intervenes to negotiate the resolution. This third party person (perhaps a professional mediator) would not support either side, but be knowledgeable enough about the situation to facilitate discussions between the conflicting parties until a compromise is reached. In cases where there are disputes among different organizations, the businesses may opt to use a legal alternative to litigation, such arbitration to resolve conflicts.
