Why do some homeowners require a "Pet Deposit" from their renters?
Some home owners require a Pet Deposit from their renters to help cover any future damage the renter's pet may cause during the term of the lease. It also serves as an incentive to the renter to supervise the pet's activities so no damage occurs and he/she can have the deposit can be returned upon termination of the lease.
