Even as an AFTB Instructor, I review the AFTB materials...when dealing with conflict, when I need to help my children learn better communication skills, when I am dealing with change and forget good ways to deal with it...the list goes on!

I took my first AFTB class back in 2000. At the time I had just left active duty service and was trying to define myself as a Family member and civilian. I didn't think AFTB had anything to offer me...boy was I wrong! I am constantly amazed by the number of former Active Duty Soldiers who end up loving AFTB. THANK YOU! For your service to our country and to our Soldiers and Families through AFTB!! Tell all your friends about our AFTB class on the MWR Facebook page, Discussions Tab...starting soon!

I have made the best of friends and met some of the most wonderful people through AFTB. Attending classes and then becoming an instructor has helped me to become a better Army spouse and hopefully, a better mentor/friend to other spouses. A wise woman once told me that AFTB materials are not 'put on the shelf' materials, it's information to USE. I use it and I share it as often as I can. I'm so excited to see the new AFTB forums! Thank you to all who have worked to make them possible.

Thanks for the post, Shelly! I'm glad you are mentoring others...and using and reusing your AFTB materials!! The curriculum is evolving so even if someone took an AFTB class in the past...with a different instructor, a different class, a different time of life and updated material, it could be a whole new experience. The upcoming Facebook class is a perfect example. When we did the beta test on it, I learned a lot...even in a class I usually teach!! Tell all your AFTB contacts to find us on ...[More]
