Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, and educational, medical, and personnel services to families with special needs.

Name change makes it easier to locate special educational services

Educational services provided by medical departments for the Army’s Exceptional Family Member Program were renamed on August 3, 1998, to make it easier for parents of special needs children to locate educational services.
