Lurking...
Lurking is a way to understand what is happening in
a chat room before you actually enter it as an active
member.
- This is similar to what you can do in newsgroups and
on listservs.
- You "listen" to
the conversation before participating.
Lurking helps you to get a feel for the interactions
in the room and decide whether you want to join in
or close the door on your way out.
