Lesson 2:
Client-based E-mail verses Web-based E-mail

There are two main types of e-mail programs available.

Client-based programs are those that reside on your computer and include those provided by your ISP. Most national ISPs have an e-mail client built into their Internet software.

  • If you own a PC, then Outlook Express® is included as a part of the Windows® operating system. Outlook Express® is an example of a client-based e-mail program.

Windows® and Outlook Express® are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
