Lesson 4:
Navigating the Web

Home & Start Pages

Home pages are the “front door” to a web site. These are where the web site designers would like you to begin when you visit their sites.

  • Well-developed home pages usually give you information about the site’s purpose and provide links to other pages in the site.

A start page, on the other hand, is the page you choose to see when you start your browser.

  • You can assign any web page the honor of being your start page. It will be displayed automatically when your browser opens.
  • To set a page as your start page, have it open as the current page in your browser window.
    • Then, using your browser’s options or preferences, simply choose to use the current page as your start page.
