We have certain unwritten codes in our society that allow us to live together in relative harmony. These same codes apply to the virtual world found on the Internet.

• While you connect to the Internet with computers, there are real people behind them.
• The Internet is a global community and this community has an informal code of manners, commonly referred to as "netiquette".
