Lesson 3:
Rules of the Road

Remembering that the requests you send can travel across the Internet in any direction, you can probably see the need for some rules of the Internet road.

  • If you didn't have these rules, requests would be delivered to the wrong server and would be bumping into each other as they traveled.

While no one controls the Internet, there are groups who “oversee” the system and the technical procedures or protocols used.
