Lesson 1:
The Internet: What is it?

The Internet is a large computer network that has connections to a vast number of computers all around the world.

  • A network is a group of computers connected to each other, so they can share information and equipment. You could have a network of two computers or two million.

If you could look at the Internet network, it would look like a giant spider web, with many different paths to get to the same place. That's why a part of the Internet is called the World Wide Web.
