Installation Housing Offices provide a variety of information on local community housing. The Army Housing OneStop provides installation housing information world-wide through its web-based system including installation welcome videos providing a glimpse of what the installation and local community have to offer. Army Housing OneStop is the official Army website for soldiers who need information about Military Family Housing (MFH), Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) and/or Community (Off-Post) Housing. It includes both comprehensive and quick-reference information for Army installations worldwide. The Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN.com) is sponsored by the Department of Defense and is designed to improve the process of securing available housing for relocating military members and their families. The U.S. Departments of State and Homeland Security announced Friday, June 8, that U.S. citizens traveling to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or countries in the Caribbean region, who have applied for, but not yet received passports, can re-enter the United States by air.

Fort Carson, family housing and community leaders gathered on the Mountain Post Nov. 17 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of privatized housing.

By keeping the focus on newcomer needs, in-processing just got a little easier with the official opening of U.S. Army Garrison Schinnen's recently renovated Housing Referral Office. Led by Schinnen commander, Lt. Col. Fern O. Sumpter, members of the garrison gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Nov. 23.

Military members will see an average raise of 2.5 percent in housing allowance rates in 2010, a BAH program analyst for the Defense Department said today.

This Act, among other things, would provide that when a service member leaves his or her home State in accord with military or naval orders, the service member's spouse may retain residency in his or her home State for voting and tax purposes, after relocating from that State to accompany the service member.

Service members and DOD Civilians will soon be eligible for Full Replacement Value protection on most DOD-funded personal-property shipments.

Make Your Trip Better for 3-1-1

On January 23, 2007 the first phase of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative was implemented. All persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda are now required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable.

AAFES added a new Military Moving Center service at aafes.com that allows service personnel to compare and purchase utilities, telephone, video, Internet access, etc. to any address within the U.S.
