What is an Armed Forces Recreation Center?

Shades of Green resortArmed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) full-service resort hotels are Joint Service Facilities that provide quality, wholesome, affordable, family-oriented vacation recreation opportunities to service members, their families, and other authorized patrons (including official travelers) of the Total Defense Force.

The AFRCs are centrally-managed, U.S. Army-operated facilities with a mission to provide rest, relaxation, recreation, and sustainment for Army personnel, their families, and other members of the total Defense Force. Authorized users include Active Duty, retirees, currently employed and retired Department of Defense civilians, reservists, delayed-entry recruits, and Family Members.

Whether strolling on the sands of Waikiki Beach, sightseeing in Europe, shopping in Seoul or visiting Walt Disney Resort; there is a vacation getaway that will leave you with fresh memories and a new perspective.
