Ms. Loretta McGowan writes in her nomination of Quintella, "She is the one of the most dedicated and committed volunteers that I have seen in twenty years of service." Quintella volunteers with Army Community Service, Outreach Center, the Provost Marshall, Rotarians and Big Brothers and Sisters.
She has committed many volunteer hours to improving the quality of life for the youth of Ft. Polk. She has been an active member of the Community Youth Council where she actively recruited other youth to serve in various capacities. She organized volunteer training and maintained volunteer accountability.
She has taught a variety of classes aimed at developing awareness of the military environment and instituted family enrichment programs for youth. Within this arena she organized annual family recreational programs and planned tours and outing throughout the State of Louisiana to allow youth to experience the local culture.
Quintella is a noted author of various articles including such topics as Conflict Resolution, Storming and Norming, and Recognize that Character Counts. She serves on the Installation Youth Advisory Council, where she acts as a consultant and liaison between the command group and the youth and community. She was chosen to be the FORSCOM Army Teen Panel Representative for the youth of Ft. Polk.
Quintella is a subject matter expert for the Army Family Action Plan, is a Consideration of Others facilitator for youth, and serves as the relocation advisor for newly arriving military youth in the community. She is truly a model teen and an outstanding patriot! Quintella we salute you!
