NOMINATING PROCEDURES

  1. The nomination of volunteers, whose contributions are believed to merit this recognition, will be made by
installations on an annual basis. Installations are under no obligation to submit nominations. There is no
limit on the number of nominations submitted or number of awards issued. There is no limit on the
number of times an individual can receive the EMBA, however, caution must be taken to assure previous
award hours are not included in new award.

  2. Eligibility requirements can be found on Army OneSource website, www.myarmyonesource.com.

  3. Nomination(s) must include an endorsement, for each nominee, signed by garrison commander and
respective IMCOM Directorate or designee. IMCOM CG will sign a memorandum approving the
    recommendation from IMCOM to ACISM.

  4. Nominations must be received by IMCOM Directorate NLT 1 September of each year. Respective IMCOM
Directorate will review the nomination(s), preferably by committee, to ensure they meet the criteria.
When a nomination does not fully meet criteria, IMCOM Directorate should solicit an alternative
recognition that would be more appropriate, if applicable. One copy of each nomination considered
appropriate for receipt of the award will be forwarded via email with endorsements from Garrison
Commander and IMCOM Directorate to IMCOM Army Volunteer Corps POC NLT 1 November of each year.

  5. All nominations considered appropriate for receipt of the award will be routed through IMCOM for Chief
of Staff, Army signature. A congratulatory memo from IMCOM CG, signed certificate and lapel pin will be
mailed to recipient’s Garrison Commander or designee for presentation during Volunteer Appreciation
