RRP: In Transit

While You Are In Transit...

Whether you are driving or flying there are a few things you need to know. You'll need to carry a few documents with you as well.

If you find yourself in an emergency situation, we can help. The USO has locations all over the world and can be a great place to stop by in order to relax or access services.

Traveling with kids? Get great tips at Military Youth on the Move. Pets are part of the Family, too. How will you move them?

Immediately upon arrival you'll need to check in to your new unit & installation. Click here to link to your installations check in procedures. Once you arrive, you will need temporary lodging until you are assigned housing.

Remember to keep all of your receipts. You'll need them when you file your travel voucher.

Need a checklist?

Visit Relocation Readiness for:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Welcome Packets
  • Sponsorship Assistance
  • Resources

  • Ensure your sponsor knows when you will arrive and ask them to set up your temporary lodging reservation.
  • Remember, the Army will not reimburse you for any costs associated with moving pets.
  • AER is accessible at any military installation, not just Army installations.

Military OneSource provides an installation program directory that allows you to search for your local Relocation Assistance Program Office.

Click the image below to take you to the MOS Moving page where you can utilize this program directory.

*You may need to scroll down on the page when it loads. The directory is located on the right side about 1/2 way down the page.
