Family Advocacy

Family Advocacy is dedicated to spousal and child abuse prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment. We provide a variety of services to soldiers and families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life.



Family Advocacy Overview

Family Advocacy is dedicated to the prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment of spouse and child abuse. The program provides a variety of services to soldiers and families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life. This mission is accomplished through a variety of groups, seminars, workshops and counseling and intervention services.

Seminars and workshops are available to you, your unit or family support group. Unit commanders are encouraged to contact their Family Advocacy Program Manager/Staff to schedule workshops and trainings that meet your specific need.

The New Parent Support Program is designed to strengthen parent's knowledge and skills to benefit the whole family.



2009 FAP Worldwide Training

This year's training held in Louisville was quite successful. The theme "Family Advocacy Prevention and Treatment within an Expeditionary Army" proved true to itself as those attending were provided an excellent opportunity to increase professional skills in many areas offering significance to FAP.

Army FAP Prevention Month Campaign Materials (Cornell University)

Transitional Compensation Program

The Transitional Compensation Program provides monthly payments (from 12 to 36 months) and other temporary benefits to Family members of a Soldier who has been court-martialed (with a qualifying sentence) or is being administratively separated for a dependent-abuse offense.
