Welcome to New Jersey Community Support

Hello, my name is Violet and I am your Community Support Coordinator for the state of New Jersey. I work with the Family Programs staff of the Active Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve to build connections, combine, and link a full range of information and services to ensure adequate information and services are available to all Soldiers and their Family members. I do this by working within the community - with national and local agencies, businesses, and interest groups to create a support network for Soldiers and Families.

With more frequent deployments and longer tours, many Families are deciding to remain where they have been living or in their hometown, rather than follow their Soldier to his/her next post. As a result, more Families are becoming geographically dispersed, often requiring services at a location other than an Army installation. This is where I help. Community Support Coordinators work to identify these services, entering the information on the AOS web site, so that Soldiers, Families, and all Army staff, regardless of component, can obtain it as needed.

We are tasked with seeing the larger picture. My job is to understand the unique challenges of Army life and find ways to bridge resources in challenging areas. The Army has a great deal of programs and resources. However, much of it is in silos and they need to be pulled together to provide seamless support. I will be out “where the action is”, assisting Soldiers and their Families with information and resource referrals to help get the job done. You may see me at such things as Yellow Ribbon events, Family Day gatherings, Battle Drill Assemblies, etc.

I am excited to help you in my role. As a retired Army veteran, I understand many of your concerns and issues. I look forward to meeting all of you during these challenging times.
