Mobilizing Faith Communities: One Church at a Time
Army OneSource is seeking the help of Military Chaplains Civilian Pastor's or ministers to raise awareness of the challenges of Military life before, during, and after deployment, raise awareness of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of Veterans and their Families, engage faith communities and others in supporting Service Members and their Families. Army OneSource is partnering with four faith-based organizations that have been identified as having exemplary programs that are focused in different areas of outreach: Military Ministry, The Navigators, Club Beyond, and Military Missions Network. Together we can identify the churches in the state of New Jersey and engage them in this outreach program to provide even greater support to Soldiers and Families with whom they come into contact. The ultimate goal is to make connections between local congregations and national programs that we have identified, to facilitate services through the congregation and their members to these Veterans and their Families. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact the Community Support Coordinator in your State or call me at 215-749-0537 and you will be connected to The New Jersey State Community Support Coordinator, V. Elaine Marigliano.
One way you can get involved is to come out and show your support on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 000 am. There will be a special service especially to honor our Veterans at Mount Holly Episcopal Church. For more information or directions please call Kris at 609-267-0225.
Military Missions Network is a network of evangelical Churches, Chaplains, and Para-Church Ministries fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by reaching, equipping and ministering to Military Members and Families worldwide.
At Campus Crusade Military Ministry, our privilege and responsibility is to assist Chaplains and Commanders with caring for the spiritual well-being of Troops and their Families. We do this in many ways, but all focus on the gospel because “faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God.”
Navigators have invested our lives in people for over 75 years, coming alongside them one to one to study the Bible, develop a deepening prayer life, and memorize and apply Scripture. An interdenominational, nonprofit organization, The Navigators is dedicated to helping people navigate spiritually. Our ultimate goal is to equip them to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2—to teach what they have learned to others.
Club Beyond is a program of Military Community Youth Ministries (MCYM). MCYM believes there is a great need to be available for young people and to build meaningful, no-strings-attached relationships with them. MCYM staff and volunteers seek to love teens unconditionally and provide a model of Christian hope in our Military Communities through weekly Club and fun activities. MCYM serves at locations with nearly 70,000 military teens.
